The Wharf Fish Shop (Seafood/Takeaways)
The fish shop located prominently on Shortland Wharf has been a Thames Icon for the last 15 years.
The wharf was built in 1868, one of five in the Thames area, and it is the only one still remaining.
The fish shop started as a fish wholesaler that offered a selection of fresh fish and related seafood products from the front of the building which still exists today. Years later the addition of delicious takeaways was added.
The retail shop is popular with locals and travellers alike, and is well known for its selection of fresh fish and array of seafood products; including fillets, oysters, kinas, mutton-birds, mussels and a selection of smoked fish. With ample room for parking with a boat in tow; a variety of bait and bulk salt ice is also available on site.
